Thought I forgot about you didn't you my little meatlings? The winter was long and unforgiving, but in the early weeks of march the Toronto handballers reunited for our premiere game. Check back soon for the stats but suffice to say that past years stats are ancient history and the 2012 handball season is in full swing. There's never been a better time to join up than this, the last year of the Mayan calendar. Armageddon tired of saying this, but I want to see all you ballets there next Sunday, rumor has it that king Wataru will even be braving the ttc to join us so be there as yesteryears champ comes by to represent japan and hopefully not break his ankle. Stats and photos coming soon.

EBIKE PLUG

Hey losers, the Handball season may be winding down (Thanks a lot principal of Sam Steele  for paiting lines across our beautiful handball court)  But that doesn't mean the handball team is idle - check out this little gem - the exciting first preview of Manny De Silva and Ryan Swifts secret project: Patient Zero, the Toronto Electric Chopper with 1.21 Gigahertz of power (Great Scott!)

Stats and latest scores have been fed into the Handball Hive Mind.  Doug Lacey jumps ahead to the top spot with Wataru safely out of commission.  Will the Tokyo Menace ever regain his top position?  Only time will tell.
First update in three weeks- I missed entering the data for the last few games so stay tuned today for the latest stats.  Highlights from yesterdays game are as follows:  A modest turnout of 5 on a beautiful indian summer afternoon - Lacey, Koga, Gordon, Pinkser and Forrest made their presence known with some truly inspirational handball.  Forrest was out early with a sprained ankle yet played on in a valiant disregard for his own health and safety.  Quality of play took a sudden dive after a mid game smoke built from filthy roaches.  Hot topics as usual were our absent members, and plans were laid for next weeks game which should have a decent turnout.
I believe it was Dougie Fresh, with cool moves like the no-look hail mary and the wall jump turnaround who won the day.  It was a narrow one game victory with Arisa in close second place.

What's worse than getting your ass kicked by Wataru?

The lowest turn out on record last weekend - Five members with no cottage to go to showed up for a blistering hot throwdown.  Koga won the day with an unprecedented 36 Games, Forrest trailed behind at a distant second with 22.  Also in attendance and on the board were De Silva with 2, Swift with 2 and Ciaravino with 1.

Hot Humid Handball Hubris

Doug "Wet Wipes" Lacey was last weeks champ in Wataru's absence - trailing by one game with 12 was Bobby "The Green Baron" Gordon.  Hot and Humid conditions slowed gameplay down to an average of 10 games per hour with a total of 38 games played.  See the Stats for full details.  Absent with a good excuse was Wataru "Taru-Chan" Tosaka who flew back to Japan for some needed tendon surgery - absent with no good excuse was Joe "The Situation" Ciaravino who lives closer than anyone but couldn't be bothered to wake up in time to accommodate both work and handball.  For shame.
Also honing their chops were Hannah and Erin, the official Handball Brats.  The THL looks forward to their long and promising career - as long as Hannah can learn to stop smacking directs, and Erin can take the food out of her mouth and show some hustle.  Keep up the good work girls!
